Personal Injury, Nursing Home, and Criminal Defense Lawyer
Have you been injured in an accident? Are you concerned that your parent or other loved one may have been abused or neglected in a nursing home? Do you need a criminal defense lawyer to help you protect your rights?
I'm James H. Bell, a Kansas City attorney with more than 30 years of trial experience. I represent the wrongfully injured and unjustly accused in Missouri and Kansas. If you need legal help, contact me to discuss what I can do to pursue a positive outcome.
Using My Trial Experience to Stand Up for Your Rights
I opened my own law firm in 1982, having spent several years as an assistant prosecutor in Jackson County trying serious felonies including murder, rape and robbery. Since then, I have focused on personal injury law, nursing home abuse and neglect, and criminal defense.
In all of my practice areas my clients benefit from my extensive trial experience, which helps me resolve legal matters effectively both inside and outside of the courtroom.
Because jury trials are so time-consuming and expensive, responsible attorneys work to resolve their clients' cases before they get to the courtroom. Unfortunately, as a result, many lawyers have little if any experience in court.
Attorneys like me who have trial experience are perhaps best able to prevent a case from going to trial. Because the opposition understands that I am willing and, more importantly, able to take a case before a jury, they are more likely to agree to a fair, reasonable resolution.
Giving Careful Attention to Your Case and Your Goals
As a solo practice lawyer, I personally handle every case that comes through my firm. Although I have a paralegal and administrative assistant to help me serve my clients better, I deliberately limit my caseload so I can provide the kind of individual attention each case deserves.
I am happy to offer a free consultation to allow me evaluate your case. My office is accessible by bus and has free parking, and I am also available to visit prospective clients at home, in the hospital or nursing home, or in jail.
Don't hesitate to contact me to schedule an appointment. I can meet with you in the evening or on a weekend if necessary.
